Managing Block Status

To change the status of a block, including canceling a block.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the block in the search result, click I Want to.. then Change Block Status or click the Block Status link in Block Presentation and click Change Block Status.

  4. Select an option:

    1. Rooms: Update the status for accommodation rooms allocated to the block.

    2. Catering (Events): Update the status for Events linked to the Block.

  5. Status: Select a status from the options available. The statuses available are based on the block status flow configured at your property. For more information, see Block Status.

  6. Click Save.

Canceling Blocks

Cancel a block to return the block room allocation to house availability. Cancellation can also be for an inquiry or a tentative block that is either lost or declined (refusal) . It is not possible to cancel a block with active picked-up reservations; ensure these reservations are cancelled prior to cancelling the block. For more information, see Applying Changes to Multiple Block Reservations.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Blocks, and then select Manage Block.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. Select the block in the search result, click I Want to.. then Change Block Status or click the Block Status link in Block Presentation and click Change Block Status.

  4. Select an option:
    1. Rooms: Update the status for accommodation rooms allocated to the block.

    2. Catering (Events): Update the status for Events linked to the Block.

  5. Status: Select a status from the options available. The statuses available are based on the block status flow configured at your property. For more information, see Block and Catering Event Statuses.
  6. Enter cancellation details:

    1. Block Cancel / Lost Reason: Select a cancellation reason from the list.

    2. Destination: Select a destination from list if the opportunity booked elsewhere.

    3. Property: Enter property name if the opportunity booked elsewhere.

    4. Description: Enter the cancellation details (maximum 2000 characters).

    5. Cancel PM Resv: Click to cancel any pseudo room reservations created for the block.

      Note:

      The cancellation number is recorded in the Changes Log.
    6. Click Save.
