Configuring Rate Code Protection

Prerequisites for Configuring Rate Code Protection

Rate Code Protection prohibits users from updating certain attributes of a rate code. You can flag attributes as protected and limit who can make changes. User assigned to roles granted Override Custom Rate Protection, Override Property Rate Protection, Override Central Rate Protection tasks have the ability to update the protected attribute. The rate ownership is selected in rate code definition.

Editing Rate Code Protection

1. From the Administration menu, select Financial, then Rate Management, and then Rate Code Protection.

2. Enter or select the property and click Search.

3. Click Edit.

4. Expand the screen/field name sections.

5. Rate Ownership: Select check boxes to nominate who has the ability to make rate code changes.

   1. Custom: Nominate these attributes as editable for rate codes that are created within OPERA Cloud and not indicated as owned by Property or Central.

   2. External: Nominate these attributes as editable for rate codes that are managed by an external system.

   3. Property: Nominate these attributes as editable for rate codes that are identified as Property ownership (Available when the Rate Ownership Handling OPERA Control is active).

   4. Central: Nominate these attributes as editable for rate codes that are indicated as Central ownership (Available when the Rate Ownership Handling OPERA Control is active).

6. Click Save.
