Redeeming Loyalty Awards for Rate

With an Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud Service, Loyalty subscription, or with an Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud Foundation subscription and the Loyalty Membership Configuration OPERA Control active and integrated with the OPERA Customer Loyalty Tracking Cloud Service member award points can be redeemed for rate awards; offered based on specific validity dates, the member's tier or level, and other factors. 

Loyalty badge Once redeemed, the Points Available value in profile membership is updated to show the deduction in points (or increase based on updates/cancellations). An Award record is also created for each night on the profile membership panel. For more information, see Managing Profile Membership (Loyalty Cloud Service).

Booking Rate Award Redemption Reservations

To redeem a stay, the available points balance must be sufficient to cover all nights of the segment. The rates displayed are based on the available points balance, member level/tier, validity dates, and other criteria. If the member does not have sufficient points for any of the available awards, no Awards appear. 

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations, and then select Look To Book Sales Screen.

  2. Enter the caller and contact information (Available when the Caller Information OPERA Control is active).

  3. Click New Reservation.

  4. In the search panel, complete the following:

    1. Stay Details:  Enter the reservation stay details.

    2. Name: Enter and search for the loyalty member profile. 

      1. Select the profile from the search results and click Select.

      2. The Member Number field is populated automatically when Auto Populate from Name is checked in the membership type.

    3. Redeem Awards: Select the check box to indicate an Award reservation.

      Note:

      The Rooms field is set to 1 and disabled.
  5. Click Search, the Availability panel displays a list of the available Awards rates and the points per night.

  6. Click the rate and room type cell to select for the reservation, then click Select.

  7. Complete the entry of the reservation details. For more information, see Booking a Reservation.

    Note:

    The Stay Information panel displays the Total Points Needed and the Remaining Points Balance.

Updating Rate Award Redemption Reservations

When increasing the length of stay additional points will be deducted and an additional Award will show for each additional night on the profile membership Award List .

When reducing the length of stay, the deducted points are credited less any cancellation penalties and the award appears as cancelled in the profile membership Award List panel.

When changing the Rate Code, the deducted points are credited less any cancellation penalties and the award appears as cancelled in the profile membership Award List panel.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, select Reservations, and then select Look To Book Sales Screen.

  2. Enter the caller and contact information (Available when the Caller Information OPERA Control is active).

  3. Select the reservation in the search result, then click I Want to . . ., Reservation, or click the confirmation number to open the Manage Reservation page.

  4. Update the stay details as needed.

Cancelling Rate Award Redemption Reservations

When cancelling an Award reservation, the deducted points are credited less any cancellation penalties and the award appears as cancelled on the profile membership type Award List .
