Configuring Menu Item Containers

Menu Item Containers describe how individual menu item are sold (for example, per piece, per dozen, or each) when they are not included in the price of the menu. The description prints on reports such as the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and Proforma Invoice. The Menu Item Containers are assigned to menu items using the Menu Item Configuration screen. Adding Menu Item Containers

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Catering Codes, and then select Menu Item Container.

  2. Click New and complete the following fields:
    1. Code: Enter a code for the Menu Item Container.

    2. Description: Enter a description of the menu item container.

    3. Manage Translation: Click link to configure localized descriptions. For more information, see Configuring Localized Code Descriptions. (Available when the Multi Language OPERA Control is active.).

    4. Sequence: Enter a number that controls the position of this code in listings. Codes without a sequence number assigned are listed in alphabetical order following codes with a sequence assigned.

  3. Click Save.

Editing Menu Item Containers

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Catering Codes, and then select Menu Item Container.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. From your search results, select the Menu Item Container, click the vertical ellipsis, and select Edit.

  4. Make changes to the Description, Manage Translation, or Sequence.

  5. Click Save.

Deleting Menu Item Containers

You can delete a Menu Item Container only if it is not assigned to a Menu Item.

  1. From the Administration menu, select Booking, select Catering Codes, and then select Menu Item Container.

  2. Enter search criteria and click Search.

  3. From your search results, select the Menu Item Container, click the vertical ellipsis, and select Delete.

  4. Click Delete to confirm.
