Prerequisites for Using the Preference Utility

Use the Preferences Utility to delete preference types from configuration, profiles, and all reservations; the preferences may be global or property specific.

The Preferences Utility can also be used to convert a property specific preference to global.

Tip:

Use  + to expand the preference groups. You can also search for preferences using the filter.

Deleting Preferences

1. From the Toolbox menu, select Utilities, select Data Management  then select Preference Utility.

2. Select the Delete Preferences tab.

   1. Global: Select to delete global preference.

   2. Property: Select to delete property preferences.

      1. Property: Select a property from the list.

   3. Select one or more preferences from the Available Values panel, then click Add to move to the Selected Values panel.

3. Click Delete Preferences.

Converting Preferences

Use to convert property preferences to global preferences

1. From the Toolbox menu, select Utilities, select Data Management  then select Preference Utility.

2. Select the Convert to Global  tab.

   1. From the Toolbox menu, select Utilities, select Data Management  then select Preference Utility.

   2. Select the Delete Preferences tab.

      1. Global: Select to delete global preference.

      2. Property: Select to delete property preferences.

         1. Property: Select a property from the list.

      3. Select one or more preferences from the Available Values panel, then click Add to move to the Selected Values panel.

3. Click Convert Preferences.
