Managing Interface Users

Each interface (OXI, OEDS, OFIS, and FIAS property interfaces) requires an interface service account created for interface authentication and authorization.

Interface user credentials are valid for 365 days from the date of creation or the last password reset date. A password expiry reset link email is sent to the Business Email address 30, 15, 7, 3 and one day before the password expiry.

Note:

Interface users can be created at the Enterprise, Chain or Property level (locations). It is recommended to use Enterprise level users with caution, as this grants access to all chains (tenants) within the enterprise.

Adding Interface Users

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Role Manager, select User Management, select Interface Users then select Manage Interface Users.

  2. Click New and complete the following:

    1. Location

      1. Enterprise: Select to create interface user for the enterprise (multi-tenant).

      2. Chain: Select to create interface user for the tenant.

        1. Organization: Select the required organization.

      3. Property: Select to create interface user for the property.

        1. Organization: Select the required property.

    2. Business Email: Enter the interface administrator email address for password expiry emails.

    3. Click Save. The interface user credentials are displayed.

    4. Click Show to view the Interface Key.

    5. Click Copy to copy the Interface Key value to the clipboard.

      1. Click Save.

Inactivating Interface Users

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Role Manager, select User Management, select Interface Users then select Manage Interface Users.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Select the interface user in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Inactivate User.

Resetting Interface User Passwords

Use to reset the password in the event the existing password is forgotten.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Role Manager, select User Management, select Interface Users then select Manage Interface Users.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Select the interface user in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Reset Password.

    1. Click Reset Password.

    2. Updated interface user credentials are displayed.

      1. Click Show to view the Interface Key.

      2. Click Copy to copy the Interface Key value to the clipboard.

    3. Click Save.

Refresh Roles (Applicable for Enterprise Users Only)

Use refresh roles when a new chain is added to the enterprise after creation of the enterprise user; this will refresh the roles and grant access to the new chain.

  1. From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Role Manager, select User Management, select Interface Users then select Manage Interface Users.

  2. Enter search criteria, then click Search.

  3. Select the interface user in the search result, then click the vertical ellipsis Actions menu and select Refresh Roles.
