Cashier Login

Cashier Login is a security feature designed to prevent unauthorized users from accessing cashiering functions. You can configure cashier IDs in Configure Cashier and assign cashier IDs and privileges to users in Managing Users.

When the Cashier Login screen is displayed and you do not have an assigned Cashier ID, a list displays all existing active cashier IDs currently linked to users in that chain.

When the Force Cashier Login OPERA Control (or) an active logged-in user is not assigned with a Cashier ID, then you are required to enter your cashier ID and PIN to access cashiering functions such as:

• Reservation Deposits

• Reservation Billing / Check Out

• Accounts Receivable Invoices

• Posting Journal

• Post It

• Batch Charges

• Batch Deposits

• Batch Folios

• Currency Calculator

• Folio History

• Cashier Closure

• Cashier Report

• Credit Card Authorization

• Credit Limit Overage

• Prepaid Card

Note:

A PIN is required for authentication instead of your sign-on password.

When the Reserved Cashier OPERA Control is active and user is not assigned a Cashier ID:

• Property Level Login: The cashier login screen shows only the Reserved cashier ID's specific to the property.
• HUB Level Login:
  • The cashier login screen shows only the Reserved Cashier ID's specific to the property when the property is preselected for the following pages: Batch Charges, Batch Deposits, Currency Calculator, Post-it/Passerby, Deposit Payments, and Billing Payments.
  • The cashier login screen shows all available cashier IDs from the chain when the property is not preselected for the following pages: Batch Folio, Folio History, Cashier Closure, Cashier Report, Credit Card Authorizations, Credit Limit Overage, Posting Journal, and Prepaid Card.
