Configuring Language Codes

Use Languages to identify the native language spoken by guests and contacts. The profile Language value can be sent to integrated systems such as in-room video and voice mail systems for localized communication with guests.

When the Multi Language OPERA Control is active the profile Language value is used to determine the localised RTF stationery template and code Description translation used when generating stationery. When no localized description is configured for a language, the primary Description is used.

  • You can set up translation for code descriptions using the Manage Translations link throughout Administration. For more information, see Configuring Localized Code Descriptions.

  • The Language code in a guest or contact profile determines the stationery template and translation for code descriptions when generating confirmations, receipts and folios.

  • The Language code in sales accounts determines translation for code descriptions on folios, AR statements, AR reminder letters, contracts, quotes, and banquet event orders. For more information, see About Stationery Editor .
