Creating Control Segments
Casino room restrictions limit the number of complimentary or discounted room nights that can be booked within a specified period. Configure these restrictions by control segment. The restrictions apply to reservations created in OPERA Cloud and through online booking channels.
For properties integrated with a Revenue Management System (RMS), OPERA Cloud uses the membership type and membership number to retrieve the control segment. OPERA Cloud then applies the corresponding casino room restriction.
For properties without an RMS integration, OPERA Cloud determines the applicable restriction from the membership type and membership level. This process does not require an external service call.
When a restriction applies, Look to Book displays the reason that the complimentary or discounted room-night reservation is restricted.
Before configuring control segments, configure the applicable rate codes. For more information, see Configuring Rate Codes.
Note:
When the Multi Property OPERA Control is active, create control segments from the Template tab. After creating a control segment, use the Copy action to copy the configuration to specific properties.
