Changing Room Class

Room classes typically define groups of room types having some characteristic in common. The Change Room Class utility enables you to associate one or more room types to a room class for a property. You can also use the utility to associate all room types to the internal "ALL" room class, allowing you to deactivate the Room Class OPERA Control is not required.

Note:

The room class change updates the room class of selected room types, for more information, see Configuring Room Types.

To associate Room Types to a different Room Class:

  1. From the Toolbox menu, select Utilities.

  2. Select the Change Room Class radio button.
    1. Property: Select a Property from the list.

    2. Room Class: Select a Room Class from the list.

    3. Room Types: Select up to 5 Room Types from the list. A warning appears when more than 5 Room Types are selected and the Change Room Class is not processed.

    4. Historical Data Sync (Optional): Select this check box to include historical records If no selected, reservations from the current business date onwards are updated.
      1. Date: Select a start date (up to 5 years from today). Historical records from this date forward, plus future records, are updated.

        Note:

        (Optional). Select Historical Data Sync to reclassify records from the selected start date, up to five years in the past. This may affect historical reporting and audits. If you do not select this option, only future records are updated.

    5. Click Change Room Class.

To associate Room Types to the Default (ALL) Room Class.

  1. From the Toolbox menu, select Utilities.

  2. Select the Default Room Class radio button.

    1. Property: Select a Property from the list

    2. Click Change Room Class.
