Redeeming Loyalty Rate Discount Awards

With an active Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud Service Loyalty subscription and the Loyalty Rate Discount Award OPERA Control, members can redeem award points as a monetary discount against an eligible reservation room rate. The remaining balance can be paid through the standard reservation payment process.

Rate Discount award availability is based on the configured award validity dates, membership level, eligible rate code, available award points, and the maximum discount percentage configured for the award.

The global membership exchange rate converts the property currency to the central currency to determine the award points deducted. An Award record is created in the profile membership. For more information, see Managing Profile Membership (Loyalty Cloud Service).

Note:

A Loyalty Rate Discount award is available only when the reservation is for one room, a single rate code applies throughout the stay, Points Discount is selected for that rate code, the room rate remains unchanged, and the member has more available award points than the Points Required value configured for the award.

Booking a Reservation with a Loyalty Rate Discount Award

From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings, Reservations, and then Look To Book Sales Screen.
Enter caller and contact information, if applicable, then click New Reservation.
In the search panel, enter the stay details and search for the loyalty member profile. Select the profile and click Select.
Click Search, select an eligible rate code and room type, and click Select.
On the Book Now page, click Rate Discount Award Available.
In the Points for Rate Discount panel, review the available points and rate amounts. Under Points To Redeem For Rate Discount, select Maximum Redeemable Points to apply the maximum eligible award points, or select Custom Number of Points and enter a lower number of points.
Review the discounted rate amounts, then click Apply.
Complete the remaining reservation details and click Book Now.

Updating Rate Discount Award Redemption Reservations

A Loyalty Rate Discount can be updated only while creating a reservation in the Look To Book Sales Screen and before the reservation is booked.

Click Rate Discount Award Available again.
Update the points selection, review the discounted amounts, and select Update Discount, Cancel Discount, or Close.
Complete the reservation details and click Book Now.

Note:

A Loyalty Rate Discount cannot be added or updated after the reservation is booked.

Cancelling Rate Discount Award Redemption Reservations

When a reservation with a Loyalty Rate Discount award is canceled, the redeemed award points are credited to the member, less any applicable cancellation penalties. The award is displayed as canceled in the profile membership type Award List panel.

Note:

For arrival or future reservations, rate-impacting changes cancel the Loyalty Rate Discount award and return the reservation to a standard rate reservation. For checked-in or in-house reservations, rate-impacting changes do not cancel the award.
