Data Studio - Reporting

This release introduces a new reporting capability in Reports and Analytics (R&A) that provides comprehensive visibility into all Subject Areas and their associated data points, replacing the information previously available in the Subject Area Definitions documentation in the R&A library. These reports provide a clear and efficient way to explore available data and quickly identify the attributes required for both report creation and Data API development.

With these reports, you can easily explore the complete structure of each Subject Area, including detailed attribute-level information such as data types, PII indicators, and corresponding Data API elements. This enables you to quickly identify the data available for reporting and API development, reducing the time required to locate relevant fields and build reports or GraphQL queries.

The reports are presented in a centralized, read-only format and include built-in search capabilities, allowing you to quickly locate specific Subject Areas and attributes. The reports are also version-aware, ensuring that the information displayed is aligned with the version of the platform currently deployed in your environment.

Key capabilities include:

Centralized, read-only reports listing all Subject Areas and their attributes
Detailed metadata for each attribute (for example: type, PII, API fields, filters, descriptions)
Search functionality across Subject Areas and attribute names for quick discovery of data points
Version-aware content that displays information aligned with the version of the platform deployed in each customer environment.

These reports improve usability and efficiency by making it easier to review, understand, and leverage the data available for reporting and Data API development.

Note:

Data Studio reports are available only for customer instances running on Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) after the analytics upgrade has been completed. Customer instances running on Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) are not currently supported.
