Prerequisites

This chapter contains instructions on prerequisites to utilize Object Storage (OS) functionality with OPERA Reporting and Analytics (R&A).

Oracle Analytics Server

Object Storage was introduced as part of Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) as an alternate way of storing/delivering data. Currently, Oracle Hospitality is rolling out all new customers with OAS making Object Storage (OS) available for BI Publisher report delivery. Many existing customers were installed with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) which did not offer OS as a feature.

To continue with use of Object Storage, your environment must be using OAS. To confirm whether you are using OAS or OBIEE, use the following step.

1. From your R&A console, open Reports and Dashboards.

   If your R&A page has a Help > Oracle Analytics option, then you are on OAS and can continue.

   If your R&A page has a Help > About Oracle BI EE option, then you are on OBIEE, and further instruction on OBIEE to OAS migration will become available later.

Postman

Postman is an Application Programming Interface (API) platform for building and using APIs.

To download and install the Postman app, connect to https://www.postman.com/downloads/ and follow the instructions to install and register an account.
