About the MedDRA recode logs

The MedDRA Recoding tool displays the following options for each case with the existing data elements after the case number in the XLS export or tab delimited file:

  • Current Workflow State
  • Current Workflow Group

These options are available for the end user logs.

The following log files are created with detailed old and new values:

When LLT(E) is Non-Current

(LM Data) - MedDRA_Recode_Success_LM_YYYY_MM_DD_HH_MIN

When LLT(E) and LLT(J) not under same hierarchy

LLT(E) and LLT(J) not under same hierarchy in target MedDRA dictionary: LLT(J) replaced with LLT(E)

(Case Form) - MedDRA_Recode_Success_YYYY_MM_DD_HH_MIN

(LM Data) MedDRA_Recode_Success_LM_YYYY_MM_DD_HH_MIN

When LLT(E) is Non-Current and LLT(E) and LLT(J) not under same hierarchy in target MedDRA Dictionary

LLT(E) and LLT(J) not under same hierarchy in target MedDRA dictionary: LLT(J) replaced with LLT(E). LLT(E) is non-current in target MedDRA dictionary: LLT(E) and LLT(J) replaced with PT

The log files have meaningful header information to reflect the selections made on the recode screen during execution. The following is the log file header format that appears in each recode log irrespective of the log file format:
Field Description
Database Name Displays the database name.
User Name
  • For self service, displays the Argus user name of the user who initiated the MedDRA recode..
  • For Dictionary Management Client/Server tool, displays SYSTEM.
Recode Mode Displays the recode mode as View Only or Update as per your selection.
Enterprise(s)

Displays the Enterprise Short Name separated by comma in a multi-tenant environment, when multiple enterprises are selected.

Source MedDRA Version Displays the source dictionary version selected in the Select the Source MedDRA Version that was used for coding drop down.
Target MedDRA Version
  • For view-only mode, displays the target dictionary version selected in the Select the target MedDRA version that will be used to recode in View Only Mode drop down.
  • For update mode, displays the target dictionary version in the common profile switch.

    If recode is done for multiple enterprises, then populates the target dictionary version corresponding to the enterprise. For example, Ent1: MedDRA J Brows V24.1J, Ent2: MedDRA J Brows V25.1J.

Process Current Terms Displays the current terms, if this option was checked.
Process Non-Current Terms Displays the non-process current terms, if this option was selected.
Update dictionary version for coded terms where existing hierarchy is still current Displays whether the dictionary version was updated for coded terms where existing hierarchy is still current.
