What is smart event encoding?
The auto-encoding process in Oracle Argus Safety is enhanced to support Smart Event Encoding. By employing advanced language processing and pattern recognition, the system analyzes and interprets medical event descriptions, even when they deviate from exact matches. This reduces the time taken on coding, streamlining the processing workflow, and thus eases the data entry process for case processors.
The Smart - Event Encoder assigns a score to each suggested term and autocodes events and indications based on the configured threshold. That is, the encoder will auto-code events, only if the suggested term’s score is equal to or higher than the threshold value. Contact your administrator to configure the threshold value as needed.
If Smart Event Encoding is not enabled, the autocoding works only if there is an exact match to the term.
Note:
Smart Event Encoding is supported only for the English view in Oracle Argus Safety.Note:
The Smart Event Encoding feature is for evaluation purposes only. You must review the output thoroughly before use.Parent topic: FAQs
