About the Dictionary Loader tool

The Oracle Central Coding software includes a stand-alone component, called the Dictionary Loader tool, that you use to manage all functions associated with loading and managing the coding dictionaries. The Dictionary Loader tool can be installed on a machine as part of the Oracle Central Coding software installation.

  • The Dictionary Loader tool is installed into the Oracle Central Coding application directory and added to the Start menu for the Oracle Central Coding application.

The Dictionary Loader tool is accessible only from the Oracle Central Coding server. You must have server-level access to run the Dictionary Loader tool; you cannot run it from the user interface.

  • Dictionaries can be loaded on the same machine as the Oracle Central Coding application or on a different machine.

Coding dictionaries are not included as part of the Oracle Central Coding installation; you must purchase and install your own coding dictionaries.

  • All dictionaries can be loaded into a single tablespace, or you can create a separate tablespace for each dictionary.

The instructions in this guide assume that all dictionaries are loaded into one tablespace.

  • Dictionaries can be used by multiple application servers.
