About coding

Coding is the process of mapping a standardized term and code from a dictionary level to a verbatim. Users can code adverse events, drugs, diseases, and other items using consistent terminology from industry-standard or custom dictionaries.

Verbatims to be coded originate in coding requests. Each request contains one verbatim.

The Oracle Central Coding application assigns coding requests to work teams rather than to individual users for coding.

The application supports the following types of coding:
