About upgrading the application server

You perform an in-place upgrade from Oracle Central Designer 7.0 to 7.0.1

You can migrate to this release from Oracle Central Designer 6.2.x or 6.3.x.

When you migrate from Oracle Central Designer 6.2.x through 6.3.x, you must:

• Create a new Oracle 19c database and migrate to it. For more information, see your Oracle database software documentation.
• Provide the database and user parameters that you entered when you created the new database and database user.

For Oracle Central Designer 6.3.2 or earlier, you must migrate to a new application server running Windows 2019 Standard. For more information, see the System Requirements guide.

Time considerations

Because the migration updates every study in the database, migrating from an earlier release could take some time, so plan the upgrade carefully. For example, Oracle expects that migrating a database with 150 studies could take 10 - 15 hours or longer.
