Allow depot-to-depot shipments for staging kits

Clinical supply managers can now allow depot-to-depot shipments to stage kits for a country prior to a blinded lot being approved in a study.

With the introduction of a new setting for blinded lots, you can better plan and control a study's supply strategy and configurations. By allowing depot-to-depot shipments before a lot is approved for release in a certain country, you give your team the possibility to ship the kits to the depot and stage them just in time for them to be shipped to the country-specific sites.

For example, a new blinded lot A is created for your study. Kits in lot A will be dispensed in three countries (Germany, France, and Spain) and each country has its own release process for these kits, as well as different intervals for releasing these new kits. Even though your study team cannot ship the kits to the sites in all three countries at once, they can now ship those kits to the depot (via a depot-to-depot shipment) to have them ready in due time for when the release of the kits can begin.

Here's what's new in your workflow:
  • On the Study Inventory tab, when you edit a blinded lot, a new toggle is displayed on the Edit Blinded Lot dialog. This new toggle is called Release for Depot to Depot.
  • By default, the Release for Depot to Depot toggle is turned off. When you turn on the toggle, and a depot-to-depot shipment is created, this shipment will be delivered regardless of the DNS (Do Not Ship) settings specific for a lot or a country.
