Access study modes and pages

As a site user, you can perform different types of tasks in specific study modes. Knowing in which study mode you should operate can represent a learning curve for you, so let's learn more about the various study modes and how to access them.

A study's settings

Note:

On the Home page, click the study settings (settings button) for the study you want to edit. Select Open Settings.

As a site user, you rarely have to access a study's settings. In a study's settings, sponsor users typically configure all settings and details of a study. However, if you are a site user who has the permission to create and manage local labs in a study, you may need to access the Sites & Labs tab to handle associations between locals labs and your site.

Training mode

Note:

To work with mock data in Training mode, click the Training Mode button ( graduation cap button ) on the study.

While your study is in Training mode, you can practice data entry as the study contains the same forms, visits, and other elements as in Production mode. You may opt to first work in Training mode before you begin your actual work in the live study (in Production mode).

Production mode

Note:

To work with real data in Production mode, click the title of the study.

Production mode is your go-to place to handle all site-related activities. You access the study in this mode most frequently as this is where you need to handle all of you work from collecting data to dispensing kits, and running reports. Data entered in Training mode isn't available in Production mode, just as data entered in Production mode isn't available in Training mode.

The Subjects page

When you access a study in Production mode, you land directly onto the Subjects page. On the Subjects page, you can perform all tasks related to subject management. You can add, screen, randomize, or withdraw a subject. You can view a subject's visit schedule, view their answer history, their associated queries, and you can access any visits to collect data.

The Supplies page

On the Supplies page, you typically have access to the Site Inventory and Shipments page. By default, you land on the Shipments page. In here, you manage all shipments that must be requested or received at your site, as well as ship kits to a drug destruction depot. On the Site Inventory page, you can perform all tasks related to kit reconciliation.
