Manage expiration dates with lots
A kit can't be dispensed unless it has an expiration date, and you assign an expiration date to a kit by associating the kit with a manufacturing lot. This procedure also applies to rollover studies.
To understand which type of lot to create, see About manufacturing and blinded lots.

Tip:
When a manufacturing lot passes its expiry date, the associated kits become unavailable for dispensation. If required, you can make these kits available again by updating the lot's expiry date.- Navigate to the Lots sidebar.
- Edit the Expiry Date for the affected lot.
- Run the resupply algorithm (either wait for the scheduled resupply run or trigger it manually).
Changing the expiry date doesn't take effect until the resupply algorithm runs. If you study has a resupply strategy and schedule defined in its supply settings, the update will be picked up at the next scheduled run. If no resupply schedule is defined, you must trigger the resupply manually. Until the resupply runs, the kits remain marked as Expired.
- Task 1. Create a manufacturing lot.
- Task 2. (Optional) Create a blinded lot.
