Types of signaling terms

You can manage several types of signaling terms for interactive signal configurations.

• Designated medical event (DME)—Adverse events that your organization wants to monitor closely. DMEs are not associated with a particular product. For more information, see Add a designated medical event.
• Custom term—User-specified term used as a pseudo-product or pseudo-event value in data mining. For more information, see Add, edit, or delete a custom term.
• Targeted medical event (TME)—Event associated with a product. For more information see, Maintain a list of targeted medical events.
• Listed event—Event listed on the label of a product. For more information, see Maintain a list of listed events.

You update DMEs and custom terms from the Manage Reference Data menu (), on the top right. You update TMEs and Listed events from the Products table.
