How do I manage refreshes for a multisource configuration?

Note:

You must refresh the configurations before including them in a multisource signal configuration.

When do I need to refresh a multisource configuration ?

What happens during the first refresh after creating a multisource configuration?

When you create a multisource signal configuration, the first refresh sets up the structure but does not calculate alerts. This enables you to set up the alert types and views for the multisource signal configuration after creating the multisource signal configuration. After your alert types and views are configured, refresh the multisource signal configuration again, using the standard refresh procedure, which calculates alerts.

How does refreshing affect connected configurations

A signal configuration may be included as the lead configuration in multiple multisource signal configurations. The lead configuration and any multisource configurations that refer to the lead are connected configurations.
  • Changes are prevented in a configuration if any connected configuration is undergoing a refresh.
  • Any changes to the underlying lead configuration affect all connected configurations that refer to it.
For example, if you delete a product from a multisource signal configuration, that product is also deleted from the following configurations:
    • The lead configuration
    • All other multisource signal configurations referencing the same configuration as the lead
  • For some changes to take effect in the multisource signal configuration, you must refresh the lead configuration first, then refresh the multisource configuration.
