Remove alerts in bulk

Superusers or users who have the Manage Signal Configurations permission can remove alerts in bulk.

When bulk removal of alerts is in progress the configuration will be marked as Refresh in progress:

• Only one bulk removal can occur for a configuration at a time.
• A bulk removal cannot occur while a refresh is in progress.
• A refresh cannot be submitted if a bulk removal is in progress.
• Completing a Submit Review while bulk removal is in progress will not cause bulk removal to fail but may impact the total number of alerts removed.

  Note:

  This is expected to be an unlikely event, best practice is to unpublish the Signal Configuration before making configuration changes.

1. In the left navigation pane, click the Settings icon (
   
   
   
   ).
2. From the Configure System menu, select Manage Signal Configurations.
3. Click the configuration's Row Action menu ( Row Action menu icon ), then select Edit Alert Types.
4. Select Bulk Remove Alerts.
5. Select at least one Alert Type and at least one Date.
   • Select Alert Types table contains a row for each tracked alert type that has existing unreviewed alerts. Select individual rows, or use the header row to select/ unselect all.
   • Select from the Dates table containing a row for each alert creation date that has unreviewed alerts. Select individual rows or use the header row to select/ unselect all.

     Alert type name	Description
     Alert Type	Alert type name.
     Unreviewed Alerts	Number of unreviewed alerts for the alert type.

     Table 10-2 Dates table

     Fields	Description
     Created Date	Date and time that the alert was created.
     Alert Types	List of selected comma-sepearated alert types, if they occurred on this date. It updates when the selections in the alert types table change.
     Unreviewed alerts	Number of unreviewed alerts on this date for the selected alert types. It updates when the alert type selections change.

6. Click Save to proceed with the bulk removal or Cancel to go back to the previous state.
7. Once saved, a confirmation message window will appear:

• Bulk alert removal is in progress. The window is updated with the message You are requesting to remove unreviewed alerts. This operation cannot be undone. Click OK to proceed or Cancel to go back to the previous state. Confirm the bulk removal of alerts by clicking OK.
• The window closes when processing is complete. If the command is successful, the alerts are removed and alert counts on the Signal Review page are updated.
