Signal Review configurations: interactive, multisource, and scripted

There are three types of signal configurations: interactive, multisource, and scripted.

  • Interactive signal configurations allow a user, with appropriate permissions, to create, validate, and refresh the configuration in the Oracle Empirica Signal application. Interactive signal configurations are currently available for proprietary data maintained in Oracle Argus Mart and for public safety data from the Adverse Event Reporting System (AERS).
  • Multisource signal configurations combines the results of multiple underlying signal configurations into a single configuration. A multisource signal configuration extends an existing interactive signal configuration by adding data from one or more secondary signal configurations and enables you to view safety data from multiple data sets side by side in a single configuration.

As an extension of interactive signal configuration, the multisource signal configurations add data from one or more secondary signal configurations, to align all datasets in one view on the Signal Review page. Changes to shared features synchronize between the multisource signal configuration and the lead configuration. Any changes you make in the multisource signal configuration are reflected in the underlying configuration and vice-versa. All independent features remain unchanged.

  • Scripted signal configurations require modifying most aspects of the signal configuration outside of the Oracle Empirica Signal application, based on your organization's requirements, and running command-line scripts to perform refreshes. Scripted signal configurations are available for other data sources, including proprietary databases.

To set up and edit the configurations, you must have the Manage Signal Configurations permission. See Edit a signal configuration.
