Create report definitions
- Create a report definition
Select a case series and then specify the report options on the Report Definitions page. - Step 1: Select a case series for a report
On the Report Definitions page, you must select a case series before you can run, edit, copy, or delete a report definition. If you run the report, it is only for cases from the selected case series. - Step 2: Name a report definition
When you have clicked Create Definition on the Report Definitions page or you have clicked Save As while editing a report definition, you must name the report definition. - Step 3: Add rows and columns to a report definition
You specify the variables and values (from source data) to define rows and columns in the report, the labels of report columns, and the aggregation method (such as count, percentage, mean, or actual value) to be used to show values in the report on the Edit Report Columns page. - Step 4: Specify a data source in a report
In a report definition, the data source of a column variable or row variable is the name of the source database variable from which data will be retrieved for the report. You also specify the label that will identify the variable in the report. - Step 5: Specify content details
Content details specify how to display values of an analysis variable; that is, the aggregation method for values. - Step 6: Preview a report
You can preview only a valid report definition. A report definition is valid if it includes at least one row variable and one column variable, and there are no error messages displayed on the Edit Report Columns page. - Step 7: Run a report and work with report data
There are several ways to run a report. - Step 8: Save a report output
Follow the steps here to use the Create Output link to save the report output so that it can be viewed later without regenerating the report. - Work with report definitions
- Specify report attributes/descriptors
- Specify variable breakdowns
- Report background processing
