Moving and enlarging the MS DTC logs

The MS DTC logs are generated by default in the %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\DTClog folder. It is recommended that you place the logs on a different disk, and increase the log file size.

To move locations for MS DTC logs in Microsoft Windows Server:

1. In Windows Explorer, create a new folder for the DTC logs.
2. Select Start > Administrative Tools > Component Services.
3. Expand Component Services > Computers > My Computer > Distributed Transaction Coordinator.
4. Right-click LocalDTC, and select Properties.
5. Select the Logging tab.
6. In the Log Information section, change the Capacity to 16 MB or higher.

   Note:

   If you experience an error that the log file is full, increase the capacity to 100 MB.

7. Specify the location for the log file, and click OK.
8. When prompted, click Yes to restart the MSDTC service.
9. Delete the original MS DTC directory through Windows Explorer.
