Overview of upgrading and migrating to this release

You can perform a new installation of this Oracle InForm software release, or you can upgrade and migrate to it from a previous version of the Oracle InForm software.

To perform a new installation, see the Installation Guide.

To upgrade or migrate to this release, perform the following steps, as needed:

• Upgrade the database environment– Use to upgrade to the Oracle 19c database software.

  For more information, see Upgrading the database environment.

• Migrate the Oracle InForm studies:
  • On-premises environment migration – You can migrate to this release from Oracle InForm 7.0.0.1 and 7.0.1.

    For Oracle InForm 6.3.x releases, you must first migrate to a 7.0.0.1 or 7.0.1 release, and then migrate to this release.

    For Oracle InForm 6.1.1.x and 6.2.x releases, you must first migrate to a 6.3.x release, then migrate 7.0.0.1 or 7.0.1, then migrate to this release.

  • Hosted environment migration – You can only migrate to this release from Oracle InForm 7.0.0.1 and 7.0.1.
• Migrate the reporting environment (Optional) – You can migrate your reporting environment to the Oracle InForm 7.0.1.1 release from any Oracle InForm 6.2.x or 6.3.x studies. This step is required only if you are using the Reporting and Analysis module.
• You can migrate your reporting environment to the Oracle InForm 7.0.1.1 release from any InForm 6.2.x or 6.3.x studies.
