Starting the InForm Publisher service

Start the Oracle InForm Publisher service after performing the initial installation and configuration. When updating the configuration, restart the service after the update is complete.

1. On the Oracle InForm application server where the Oracle InForm Publisher module is installed, click Start > Administrative Tools > Services.
2. Select the InForm Publisher Service, and click Start.

If the Oracle InForm Publisher service encounters an error, error messages are written to the Event Log. Error messages could occur in the following situations:

• The InFormPublisher.config file refers to a study that does not exist in the Oracle InForm application.
• If you attempt to start the Oracle InForm Publisher service before starting the Oracle InForm service after you reboot a server, an error occurs indicating that the dependency service or group failed to start. When this occurs, start the Oracle InForm Publisher service again.

  To prevent this error, when you reboot a server, always start the InForm service before you start the Oracle InForm Publisher service.

• The configuration XML file was manually modified and is not well-formed.
• The endpoint URL is in an invalid format in the configuration XML file.
• One of the configuration XML file attributes has an invalid value or a value that is outside of its minimum or maximum boundary.
