Options Forecast

The Options Forecast method is used for Assortment Planning. It is not just a forecast method; it delivers valuable outputs at each of the following stages:

  1. Optimize history: estimates sales that would happen in a perfect world for hindsight analysis, comparison, and as basis for later assortment strategy recommendations.
  2. Attribute Weights: determines which attributes types and values are driving sales to enable a smart starting point in determining future assortments.
  3. Incrementality: Determines the incremental benefit when options are added to the assortment.
  4. Sales Potential: estimates potential sales for a style-color (or placeholder) based on assigned product attributes.
