4 Deprecation Advisory

As part of the continuous delivery model for cloud services, features and technical components of a solution may be removed or replaced to enhance the security, performance, and overall quality of the cloud service. When this occurs, the deprecation of a feature or component is announced in advance, allowing customers sufficient time to anticipate the change and transition to any enhanced replacement feature/component. After the deprecation is announced, the deprecated feature or component will remain in the solution until the planned removal date and will not be enhanced or made compatible with other new features.

Scheduled Deprecated Features Removed

Customer Bill To (WCBT) Feature

The Customer Bill To feature has been removed as it was limited in design, supporting billing only at the order level rather than the payment level, which restricted flexibility and alignment with new payment capabilities.

Customers should use billing name and address at the payment level instead of Customer Bill To, which provides more flexibility and aligns with current architecture.

As part of the completed deprecation, the following was removed:

  • Work with Customer Bill To (WCBT) menu option

  • Merging and Purging Customer Bill To Names (MMCB) menu option

  • Supporting system control values:
    • Create/Assign Bill To Customers in Order Entry (A76)

    • Allow Order For New Bill To Without Order Hold (D84)

    • Update Bill-to Address with Sold-to Address Changes (E13)

  • Customer Bill To (A11) number assignment

  • “Bill To Notes” option in Change Tickler Event screen in Classic View Work with Tickler Events (WTEV)

    Important:

    Important Considerations

    • No underlying data was automatically deleted; existing records may still exist but are considered obsolete.

    • Some limited references (for example, in tickler screens) remain but are deprecated and should not be used.
