4 Deprecation Advisory

As part of the continuous delivery model for cloud services, features and technical components of a solution may be removed or replaced to enhance the security, performance, and overall quality of the cloud service. When this occurs, the deprecation of a feature or component will be announced in advance, allowing customers sufficient time to anticipate the change and transition to any enhanced replacement feature/component. After the deprecation is announced, the deprecated feature or component will remain in the solution until the planned removal date and will not be enhanced or made compatible with other new features.

For a full, current list of declared deprecated features, see the current Deprecation Advisory at https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?id=2666109.1.

Features Removed in this Update: The following deprecated features have been removed:

  • Pick/Pack Verification (WPPV): Removed the pick/pack verification option, as well as the Pack Slip and the Order Summary. Also, removed the system control values supporting this option:

    • Order Summary Print Program (K31)

    • Pack Slip Print Program (K32)

    • Packer Productivity Purge Days (K33)

    • Scan Non-Inventory Items (K34)

Also, the PACKPRG periodic function has been removed. Any periodic processes that reference the PACKPRG periodic function should be updated to remove PACKPRG; otherwise, it will go into Message status.

  • Consolidated Invoice: With update 21.0, the option to select the Consolidated Invoice (B49) system control value, if it was not already selected, has been removed.

Already selected? If consolidated invoice is already enabled before this update, it can remain selected and invoice consolidation still takes place; however, the option to consolidate invoices will be removed in a future update. Also, if the system control value is currently selected (set to Y) and you deselect it (change it to N or blank), you cannot then change it back to selected.

  • SOAP Messages: With update 21.0, SOAP messages have been removed from the Classic View online help and other documentation. Also:

    • The CWManifestPickRequest, CWManifestShipRequest, and CWManifestShipResponse messages have been deprecated and removed from the documentation. These messages are no longer supported. The generic Pick In API should be used instead.

    • The CWReturnIn and CWCustHistIn/CWOrderOut are used as part of the Xstore integration. Contact your Oracle support representative for formatting details and configuration requirements for integration with Xstore.

  • Sales Integration with Customer Engagement Cloud Services: With this update, in order to prevent the creation of duplicate customers in Customer Engagement Cloud Services, support for the batch customer updates with Customer Engagement will be discontinued. SALES will no longer be a valid setting for the ORCE Customer Integration (L37) system control value, so the only valid setting will be INTERACT. If the system control value is currently set to SALES, the 21.0 update will reset it to blank.

  • Customer Engagement Item and Merchandise Batch Files:With this update, the Item and Merchandise Output Files for Customer Engagement will no longer be supported.

When the RLTSLSF Sales Feed periodic function is run, the Update Item and Update Merchandise Hierarchy batch files will no longer be generated.

Additionally, the RLTITMF Customer Engagement Item Feed periodic function has been removed from the system and from any periodic processes.

  • Alternate Currency Pricing: With update 21.0, the Use Alternate Currency Pricing (H89) system control value is no longer available, and alternate currency pricing as implemented through this system control value is no longer supported. The Multi Currency by Offer (E03) should be used instead if you need to support multiple currencies.

  • Storing the Customer’s Last Card Number and Expiration Date: With this update, the ability to store the customer’s last card number and expiration date is no longer available. The following system control values have been removed and ability to store and prompt for last card through order entry is no longer available:

    • Prevent Storing the Customer’s Last CC# and Exp Date (J86)

    • Default Previous Pay Type in Order Entry (D64)

Additionally, when the update is applied, all previously stored credit card numbers, tokens and expiration dates will be removed from the Customer Sold To Order History and Customer Ship to Order History tables.

  • OMS Encryption: OMS Encryption was removed from documentation, and OMS Key Management should be used instead. See the Data Security and Encryption Guide at on My Oracle Support (1988467.1) for more information.
