This document highlights the major changes for Release 22.0.1 of Oracle Retail Xstore Suite.

Oracle Retail Xstore Suite 22.0.1 includes the products below.

Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service

Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service is a point-of-sale application that provides the capabilities to carry out day-to-day transactions and conduct daily store activities. Tasks such as scanning items, applying price adjustments, tendering, and printing receipts as well as processing returns and web orders can be performed. Store operations including opening the store, managing registers and tills, and closing the store can be handled through Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service. As part of Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service, these release notes include information about Xstore Point of Service Mobile and Xenvironment.

Oracle Retail Xstore Office

Oracle Retail Xstore Office is a central web-based management console that provides for the effortless management of the data and configurations that empower your associates. The user interface within Oracle Retail Xstore Office provides streamlined functionality that guides users through configuration changes, data changes, and deployments. Granular security access can create a custom experience for users of all access levels. Multiple support tools and alerts enable IT leaders to take a proactive approach to managing multiple installations.

Functional Enhancements

This section describes the functional enhancements for this release.

Paperless Receipts

Xstore offers the option to skip sale receipt printing. In some countries this is a mandatory feature that allows retailers to work paperless when needed.

Oracle Retail Promotions Engine (ORPE) — Promotion ID

When applying an ORPE deal, Xstore populates the POSLog with the ORPE deal ID it received in the response from ORPE. 

Country Accelerator Enhancements

Xstore Point of Service functionality has been extended to include the following in version 22.0.1.

Italy Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Italy.

Instant Lottery

Enhancements have been implemented for the Instant Lottery functionality to comply with the legal requirements.

France Country Accelerator

The following enhancements have been implemented for the country pack France.
  • NF525 certification changes have been implemented to comply with the fiscal laws.

  • Xstore offers the possibility to not print a sale receipt when a transaction is created.

  • Retailer can indicate which items are subject to legal warranty.

Poland Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Poland to comply with the fiscal laws.

  • Xstore issues Simplified Invoices.

  • Xstore complies with the new JPK (Jednolity Plik Kontrolny) specifications.

Technical Enhancements

This section addresses the technical enhancements included in Oracle Retail Xstore Suite System Release 22.0.1.

Spring Framework

The Spring Framework was upgraded to 5.3.27.

Middleware

Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Release 22.0.1 supported for use with the following Middleware components:

  • Tomcat 9.0.84

  • Jetty 9.4.51

Defect Fixes Documentation

A defect fix is a modification to the base Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service code (for example, a bug fix, a performance enhancement, a functional enhancement, or a technical enhancement). The file named DEFECT_MODULE_XREF_XSTORE_22.0.1.xlsx lists every defect number and the modules and scripts that are added or modified in the release. The file is posted to My Oracle Support at the following location: Oracle Retail Defect Document Listings (Doc ID: 2021275.1).

Return Transactions

Fixed an issue where an error occurred after entering the OMS Web Order Id for returns with original receipt.

Xstore Certificate

The Xstore Certificate must be updated.

IMPORTANT: Retailers are required to generate self-signed root certificates for use with Xstore Point of Service and Xenvironment. Before deploying this update, verify that all steps in the Xstore and Xenvironment Certificates section of the Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Implementation and Security Guide have been followed and that certificates are properly rotated prior to expiry.

Replication

Fixed an issue with Xstore was posting too many event logs when the replication process had records in queue.

Xstore Certificates

A user-facing prompt has been added when a certificate is expired or going to expire.

Xenvironment

Tax free transactions can be performed simultaneously with two different mobile devices.

Deprecated Features

As part of the continuous delivery model for cloud services, features and technical components of a solution may be removed or replaced to enhance the security, performance, and overall quality of the cloud service. When this occurs, the deprecation of a feature or component will be announced in advance, allowing customers sufficient time to anticipate the change and transition to any enhanced replacement feature/component. After the deprecation is announced, the deprecated feature or component will remain in the solution until the planned removal date and will not be enhanced or made compatible with other new features.
