This document highlights the major changes for Release 22.0 of Oracle Retail Xstore Suite.

Overview

Oracle Retail Xstore Suite 22.0 includes the products below.

Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service

Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service is a point-of-sale application that provides the capabilities to carry out day-to-day transactions and conduct daily store activities. Tasks such as scanning items, applying price adjustments, tendering, and printing receipts as well as processing returns and web orders can be performed. Store operations including opening the store, managing registers and tills, and closing the store can be handled through Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service. As part of Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service, these release notes include information about Xstore Point of Service Mobile and Xenvironment.

Oracle Retail Xstore Office

Oracle Retail Xstore Office is a central web-based management console that provides for the effortless management of the data and configurations that empower your associates. The user interface within Oracle Retail Xstore Office provides streamlined functionality that guides users through configuration changes, data changes, and deployments. Granular security access can create a custom experience for users of all access levels. Multiple support tools and alerts enable IT leaders to take a proactive approach to managing multiple installations.

Functional Enhancements

This section describes the functional enhancements for this release.

Container Enhancements

The following Xstore components are now Container Ready.
  • Xstore Database

  • Xenvironment

  • Xstore Mobile

  • EFTLink

  • Xservices

A container file is provided as a base deliverable that the retailer can leverage to generate a containerized version of the Xstore component.

Order Maintenance — Customer Failed to Pickup

If an order has not been picked up within the specified number of days and no money has been deposited for the order, this order will be marked as "Customer not picked up". On the Order Management screen, the employee can cancel the Customer Failed to Pickup order.

Self-Checkout UI

A new Self-Checkout UI has been implemented in v22.0. The new UI focuses on usability and delivers a streamlined checkout experience for the shopper. The classic Self-Checkout Mode will continue to be available until the Swing-based, classic Xstore UI is retired.

Xstore Mobile Shell

Xstore Mobile client UI/rendering updates are now retrieved dynamically from the Xstore Mobile server to reduce the need to update Xstore Mobile client devices via MDM or similar technologies.

Xstore Microservices

New Xstore Microservices are available for in-store use for retrieval of the following types of data:
  • Discounts

  • Items

  • Prices

  • Taxes

  • Tenders

Oracle Retail Promotions Engine

We are introducing an integration to Oracle Retail Promotion Engine which is a new module of Customer Engagement. This is a headless promotion execution service built for omnichannel. When the ORPE integration is utilized the Xstore deal engine will be suppressed. This allows retailers to have the ability to have a single source of truth for promotion calculation.

Country Accelerator Enhancements

Xstore Point of Service functionality has been extended to include the following in version 22.0.
  • Sale Cash Tender Limits in several countries have been updated based on updated country regulations.

France Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack France.

  • Archives are now created as transaction attachments which will result in a more efficient solution for their storage in a secure place.

Note:

Even though Xstore version 22.0 includes all the features expected for compatibility with the NF525 2.2 specification, it is not explicitly certified for France. The customer should work to obtain the certification for their specific environment.

Germany Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Germany.
  • DSFinV-K export is upgraded to V2.3

  • Recent changes on the check for fiscal code validity are implemented

India Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack India.
  • Delivery Challan (for zero-amount transaction) and Bill of Supply (for non-taxed items) are implemented.

Japan Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Japan.
  • New legal requirements for Tax Free were implemented.

Mexico Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Mexico.
  • CFDI protocol is updated to 4.0

  • Integration with tax authorities for invoices including items with IEPS taxation

  • UI rendering improved in Electronic Journal for Invoices

  • Invoice layout improved

Poland Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Poland to comply with the fiscal laws.

  • Xstore updates the province codes.

  • Xstore complies with the new JPK (Jednolity Plik Kontrolny) V4 specifications.

  • The invoice layout has been enhanced. The taxable amount column is displayed in line item section.

  • A configuration that disallows the return of multiple invoices has been implemented.

  • Correction Invoices are issued instead of Credit Notes in case of returns against invoiced sales.

Portugal Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Portugal to comply with the fiscal laws.

  • Xstore uses NFI during a sale or a unverified return.

  • Xstore issues a Fatura Completa together with a Tax Free Invoice before, during and after the tendering process of a sale.

Spain Country Accelerator

The following functional enhancements have been implemented for the Country Pack Spain to comply with fiscal laws.
  • The Cash Limit is now based on the transaction amount and not on the amount paid in cash.

Tax Free Shopping

The following enhancements were implemented in v22.0:

  • IC2 Global Blue: Updated the parameter SenderId to Xstore version 22.0.

Globalization Enhancements

The following globalization enhancements have been implemented:

  • An option to define a sales threshold above which the customer must be associated to the sale has been implemented.

  • Xstore stores the fiscal date and time of the fiscal receipt now.

  • Receipt headers have been redesigned for specific countries.

  • Tax and fiscal code checks have been improved allowing them as warnings.

  • Fixed amount taxation are now better supported (IEPS for Mexico and CESS for India).

  • Invoices layouts are improved when accounts are included.

  • Credit notes against multiple invoices must be consistent with the customer and its tax code.

Xstore Office Enhancements

Xstore Office functionality has been extended to include the following in version 22.0.

Credentials Storage

The Credentials Storage function has been enhanced to capture the scope along with the client ID and secret for Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service integrations.

Country Pack — Brazil and Italy

The Country Pack Configuration Brazil and Italy have been implemented in Xstore Office 22.0.

Integration Management

The Integration Management screen allows you to integrate Xstore Office with the following applications:

  • Omni Channel Data Service (OCDS) REST

  • Customer Engagement (CE) REST/SFTP

  • Merchandise Foundation Cloud Service (MFCS) REST

  • Avalara Tax Data Service REST

  • Order Broker (OROB) REST/SFTP

Update Key Button

The Integration Management Summary screen contains an Update Key button to update and test the integration.

Broadcaster Management

The Broadcaster Management function allows you to transmit PosLog data to other systems.

Attachments

The Attachments screen enables the retailer to export attachment files to access them from a configurable location.

Hierarchy Manager Menu

The Hierarchy Management Menu has been implemented to maintain and organize nodes in the organization hierarchy and to view and configure the merchandise hierarchy.

Merchandise Hierarchy Levels

The Merchandise Hierarchy Levels has been implemented to define merchandise hierarchy levels. These defined levels can be mapped to the retailer’s merchandise hierarchy levels.

Register Count Report

The Register Count Report lists the total number of registers for the entire organization and a breakdown of the number of registers for each store - those with transactions and those without transactions.

Base Feature — Oracle Retail Promotions Engine

Xstore integrates with the Oracle Retail Promotions Engine as a deal engine. The base feature Oracle Retail Promotions Engine can be configured on the Personality Maintenance screen.

Technical Enhancements

This section addresses the technical enhancements included in Oracle Retail Xstore Suite System Release 22.0.

Middleware

Oracle Retail Xstore Suite Release 22.0 supported for use with the following Middleware components:

  • Log4j 2.17.2

  • Tomcat 9.0.62

  • Jetty 9.4.48

Hardware

This section addresses the Xstore Hardware included in Oracle Retail Xstore Suite System Release 22.0.

Xstore Point of Service Device

Xstore Point of Service is now supported on the following Self-Checkout terminals:

  • ELO 22" I-Series for Windows (2.0)

  • Oracle MICROS Workstation 625E with 15.6" touchscreen display

  • ELO Scanner SE2707 Edge Connector

Defect Fixes Documentation

A defect fix is a modification to the base Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service code (for example, a bug fix, a performance enhancement, a functional enhancement, or a technical enhancement). The file named DEFECT_MODULE_XREF_XSTORE_22.0.xlsx lists every defect number and the modules and scripts that are added or modified in the release. The file is posted to My Oracle Support at the following location: Oracle Retail Defect Document Listings (Doc ID: 2021275.1).

Deprecated Features

As part of the continuous delivery model for cloud services, features and technical components of a solution may be removed or replaced to enhance the security, performance, and overall quality of the cloud service. When this occurs, the deprecation of a feature or component will be announced in advance, allowing customers sufficient time to anticipate the change and transition to any enhanced replacement feature/component. After the deprecation is announced, the deprecated feature or component will remain in the solution until the planned removal date and will not be enhanced or made compatible with other new features.
