Functional Enhancements
This section describes the functional enhancements for this release.
Xstore POS Enhancements
Home Screen Tab Updates
The Home Screen tab updates provide store teams with faster access to commonly used applications, order activity, and sales performance. The Apps Tab provides quick-launch access to configured applications and websites used by associates. The Orders Tab now includes a Total Orders card that summarizes average order time to ready and weekly trends. The Sales Tab and related drawers surface current sales, goals, department performance, associate performance, and top-selling items.
Xstore POS Handheld
Xstore POS on handheld has been enhanced to include a new Start Sale action button on the home screen, shopping cart item messaging, Item Dashboard sales history, and improved identification of Return transactions.
Customer Profile Enhancements
Introduced flexibility for Xstore to capture only birth month and birth date when birth year is not required. Customer entry fields now automatically apply title-case capitalization, and the Customer ID information is displayed on supported overview and dashboard screens.
Configuration for Gift Card Activation
Gift card activation is now supported during tender processing. The tender flow includes activation handling and related error processing, enabling supported gift card activity to be completed as part of the payment process.
Tender Display Configurations
Xstore displays the rounded cash amount due when cash rounding is enabled. Additionally, a new layout option improves the presentation of large transaction totals in the cart and other related display areas.
Orders and Fulfillment Handling
Time zone handling for same-day delivery orders has been updated so order timing can be represented more accurately in supported Xstore workflows.
Recommended Items
For retailers configured to use the Oracle Retail AI Foundation Cloud Service integration, Xstore has enhanced Recommended Items. Recommendations can be displayed for the most recently scanned item, refreshed when an earlier basket item is selected, and categorized as Upgrade Items for upsell opportunities or Add-on Items for cross-sell opportunities. These enhancements support associate-led recommendations during the selling process.
Enhanced SSO Support
Xstore now supports True SSO authentication, enabling users to sign in through the retailer’s configured identity provider and return securely to Xstore after authentication. This support applies across Xstore, Xservices, Self Checkout, Self Checkout Console, and Store Console workflows, including login, logout, service authentication, and security approval scenarios.
When True SSO is enabled, Xstore streamlines the sign-in experience by directing users to the SSO login page, displaying clearer handoff messaging, and returning users to their original workflow after successful authentication. The implementation also supports token-based authentication for Xservices and identity-provider redirect handling required for Xstore application flows.
Store Console
New Store Console
Store Console is a new Xstore capability that gives managers and supervisors a centralized view of register activity across the store. From one experience, users can monitor standard registers, tablets, handhelds, and Self Checkout registers in card, table, or list layouts, with filtering by register type or retailer-defined attributes. Self Checkout Console remains focused on Self Checkout operations, while the new Store Console expands visibility across the broader store environment.
Store Console helps store leaders identify registers that need attention by surfacing key activity and alerts, including manager approvals, return activity, hardware issues, and assistance requests. Register details provide additional context so users can better understand what is happening at each workstation and take action where supported.
The experience is responsive across supported screen sizes and includes configurable presentation options, such as branding-related styling, alert severity, and Shared Device mode.
Self Checkout
Self Checkout Customer Experience
Customer experience improvements include age-restricted item badges, Grab and Go Item handling, and automatic title-case capitalization during Loyalty sign up. Associate experience enhancements include cart line item swipe actions to improve cart management and the ability to switch a Self Checkout device to operate as a traditional register when needed. Retailer configuration enhancements include a configurable home screen video, configurable scanned-item display order, and support for cash-free till accountability mode. Self Checkout devices can now be installed as desktop registers with local/offline database support.
