Overview
In earlier releases, Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Cloud Service integrated with ESRI ArcGIS 10.x through a dedicated GIS JAR deployed on the ArcGIS Server. This integration supported GIS services accessed through ArcMap and relied on ArcObjects-based tools for data exchange between GIS and Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Cloud Service.
The legacy integration primarily supported the following capabilities:
Authentication: Secure, token-based authentication was used to establish trusted communication between Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Cloud Service and ESRI ArcGIS.
Inbound Synchronization: GIS data was synchronized to Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Cloud Service using the Extract Delta Changes geoprocessing tool. This process allowed asset and location changes made in GIS to be transferred to Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Cloud Service.
This integration approach is referred to throughout this document as the Legacy Integration.
