Meter Operations Insights Business Flags
Meter Operations Insights are analytics produced by Oracle Utilities Data Intelligence (OUDI) that evaluate meter and service-point data to identify potential operational issues. OUDI publishes the resulting insights to Meter Solution Cloud Service, Customer Cloud Service, or Meter Data Management as Business Flags with supporting context, so users can prioritize and review potential issues in their existing MDM workflow.
Meter Operations Insights sends the following insights as business flags:
- Meter Bypass
- Frequent Power Outage
- Power Factor Monitoring
The Business Flag identifies the service point and includes context that supports review of the insight.

Meter Operations Insight Context
The following optional context values can be included with Meter Operations business flags:

| Frequent Power Outage | Power Outage Count | Number of power outages associated with the insight. |
| Power Factor Monitoring | Power Factor | Calculated power factor. |
| Power Factor Monitoring | Usage Loss | Aggregated kWh loss for the duration of the business flag. |
Context information is displayed on the business flag when it is available. A business flag can be created with or without context values.
Configuring Meter Operations Insight Business Flags
Configure a separate Service Point Business Flag Type for each Meter Operations insight you wish to enable. Use the Service Point Business Flag (D1-SPBusinessFlag) business object unless your implementation requires monitor-driven follow-up or field work.
The following table lists the business flag types to configure. Use the standard names and any delivered type codes supplied with your release.

The Service Point Business Flag (D1-SPBusinessFlag) business object does not create a service issue monitor, field activity, or investigation task. If your implementation requires monitor-driven follow-up or field work, configure the applicable business flag type using the Initiate SP Monitoring Business Flag (D1-SPMonitorBusinessFlag) business object. If the external system uses a name that differs from the configured standard name, add the external name to the Business Flag Standard Name extendable lookup. See Configuring Business Flag Integration for more information.
Configuring Measurement Identification
Meter Operations Insights uses the measurement identification configuration in Meter Solution Cloud Service and Meter Data Management to identify the customer-specific measurement channels used by the insights. Configure the mappings for the measurements required by the insights you enable. See Defining Standard Measurement Identifiers for more information.
For Power Factor Monitoring, configure the mappings for power factor and the supporting measurements used by the implementation, including kVA when applicable. If the required power factor data is not available in the system, configure pass-through measuring processing before enabling Power Factor Monitoring. Reviewing Meter Operations Insight Business Flags (Section)
Use the Business Flag portal to search for and review Meter Operations insight business flags. You can search by business flag type to review insight records across service points. Review the business flag context together with the service point information and follow the investigation process defined by your implementation.
