Inbound Requests

Incoming requests should utilize standard basic HTTPS authentication.

Outbound Requests

The Itron system can be configured to expect a WSSE security element in the SOAP header for authentication. That element will contain certain features such as a nonce, in addition to the credentials. This can be configured in Smart Grid Gateway by setting the Message Sender’s Sender Security Type value to "ITRON" (as shown in the following screen capture).
