Which System Owns Asset Related Details?
GIS is the system of record for location related details and as such these are designed to be synchronized into the system continuously, reflecting changes made to these details over time.
-
Continuously synchronized from the GIS system. This is indicated on the GIS to WAM Sync Mapping extendable lookup record for the feature class.
-
Continuously synchronized back to the GIS system when data changes in the system over time. This is indicated in the WAM to GIS Sync Mapping extendable lookup record for the asset type. Changes made to such asset details are detected using standard audit rules on the asset entity and send an update to the GIS system.
Note:
The same asset detail cannot be continuously synchronized both ways.Parent topic: Understanding GIS Integration
