Upgrading from ESRI 10.x to 11.x

Upgrading from ESRI 10.x to 11.x involves running the following batch processes to help preserve the integrity of GIS-synced assets, asset locations, and work locations. This section describes these batch processes.

GIS Asset Location Data Export

The GIS Asset Location Data Export (W1GISALX) batch process extracts asset location records, including asset data, that have been synchronized with Esri. This batch enables customers to generate a file containing a current mapping of asset locations and their GIS global IDs before and after the Esri upgrade.

The batch job may generate the following files depending on the environment:

File Description	File Name Prefix
Asset locations with a single asset installed	SA (for Single Asset)
Asset locations with no asset installed (locations created without associated tracked assets).	NA (for No Asset)
Asset locations with multiple assets installed (not supported out of the box; provided for customers with custom solutions).	MA (for Multiple Assets)

Access to the GIS Asset Location Data Export (W1GISALX) application service is needed to run this batch job.

Legacy GIS ID Update

ArcGIS upgrades (for example, to the Utility Network model) may replace global IDs. The Legacy GIS ID Update (W1GISIDU) batch process updates the global IDs in asset locations and work locations with the new values generated in Esri after the upgrade, ensuring these records remain accurately linked to their corresponding GIS features.

• Format: Create a newline-delimited JSON file (jsonl extension), where each entry maps the old global ID to the new global ID.
• File Naming: Use only letters, numbers, and underscores ("_") in the file name. Do not use other special characters (such as dashes "-" or spaces " ").
