Setting Up Secure File Transfer for Flat Files
Before a utility can deliver flat files to Oracle Utilities Opower, the utility must set up secure file transfer access. Secure file transfer is used to transmit approved flat file extracts from the utility environment to predefined directories on an Oracle Utilities Opower SFTP site.
To use this transfer method, the utility must configure a Secure Shell (SSH) tool and generate a private/public key pair for authentication. Oracle Utilities provides setup instructions for supported tools and operating systems. After SSH access is configured, the utility can transfer sample, historical, and ongoing incremental files as part of the flat file validation and production transfer process.
Oracle Utilities also provides an optional fileset transfer manifest specification to help optimize file transfer and support troubleshooting. See Fileset Transfer Manifest Specification for more information.
