3 How do I configure a server connection?

  1. Open the app.
    You see the page displaying the available server connections.
  2. Tap Add server icon.
    You see the server details page.
  3. In the Connections screen, specify the following in the General tab based on your installation:

    SSO For this installation, the connection always uses Single Sign-On (SSO). SSO is configured on the entry point for your Oracle BI Presentation Services server by your system administrator. Toggle the SSO setting to ON for this installation as SSO is configured on the server you are connecting to. Toggle the SSO setting to OFF for this installation as SSO is not configured on the server you are connecting to.
    Host Enter the name of the server to connect to. Enter either the IP address (for example: 192.168.1.1) or the fully qualified host name of the computer on which Oracle BI Presentation Services is running (for example, host1.example.com). Do not enter a stand-in URL, such as tinyurl.com/1234 that redirects to a server. Enter the name of the server to connect to.     SSL/TLS Tap the toggle to select ONor OFF. The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol is configured on the entry point for your Oracle BI Presentation Services server by your system administrator. If SSL is configured on the server you are connecting to, toggle this setting to ON. System administrators are advised to configure SSL on the Oracle BI Presentation Services server. Tap the toggle to select ONor OFF. The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol is configured on the entry point for your Oracle BI Presentation Services server by your system administrator. If SSL is configured on the server you are connecting to, toggle this setting to ON. System administrators are advised to configure SSL on the Oracle BI Presentation Services server.     Username Only applicable if SSO is turned off for you. Use your standard user name for connecting to Oracle BI Enterprise Edition (Oracle BI EE). Only applicable if SSO is turned off for you.
    Password Only applicable if SSO is turned off for you. Use your standard password for connecting to Oracle BI EE. Only applicable if SSO is turned off for you.
    Save Password Only applicable if SSO is turned off for you. Tap the toggle to select ONor OFF. If set to ON, the password you enter in the Password field is saved as part of the configuration for the server. If set to OFF, you are prompted to enter your password each time you launch the application. The default setting is OFF. Only applicable if SSO is turned off for you.
    Specify the following in the Advanced tab:

    These values are same for Oracle Analytics Cloud, On-premises with SSO, and On-premises without SSO installations.
    • Analytics Path: For example, /analytics/saw.dll.

    • Publisher Path: For example, /xmlpserver. This setting is mandatory; it is only used, however, if you access any Oracle BI Publisher content.

    • MAD Path: For example, /mobile/viewer.jsp.

    • VA Path: For example, /va/project.jsp.

  4. Click Save.
