What's New in Version 5.2

The following topics introduce the new and changed features of ADF Desktop Integration and other significant changes that are described in this guide, and provides pointers to additional information.

New and Changed Features for Version 5.2

Oracle ADF Desktop Integration, version 5.2, includes the following new and changed features:

5.2.1

  • The installer now checks for and requires version 4.8.1 of the Microsoft .NET Framework runtime.
  • Integrated workbooks that are opened in read-only mode now cannot be used with ADF Desktop Integration. You must correct the cause of the read-only state and reopen the workbook to proceed.

5.2.0

  • WebView2 is now a prerequisite for add-in installation.
  • Support for the deprecated .NET WebBrowser Control has been removed.
  • WinINet is no longer used during login via WebView2.
  • The Excel add-in installers no longer set Internet Explorer registry entries such as FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION for the Excel process.

Deprecated Features

The following features are obsolete and deprecated. You should no longer use these features. Please remove any previous usages as soon as possible. These features may be removed in the next release of this product.

System Check Modern browsers don't support Java applets.
Non-blocking Action Set This feature is not sufficiently reliable to be used with confidence.
Workbook Composer & Runtime Customization This feature did not achieve sufficient adoption.
