Description of the illustration ADF Desktop Integration Architecture

The ADF Desktop Integration component inside Microsoft Office on the desktop communicates using the HTTP or HTTPS protocol with the remote servlet component inside the Oracle ADF container on the application server. The ADF Model layer which is also inside the Oracle ADF container on the application server communicates with the Oracle database.
