This image shows four shapes to describe component compatibility. The example is explained in the surrounding text.

  1. The first and second shapes are rectangles with both a jigsaw pocket and a jigsaw tab, meaning they can stretch children and can be stretched. The label for the first reads panelStretchLayout and the label for the second reads panelSplitter.

  2. The third shape is a rectangle with a jigsaw tab, meaning it can be stretched. It has the label panelGroupLayout set to scroll.

  3. The last shape is a solid rectangle with the label panelFormLayout. It cannot stretch children or be stretched.

Note:

The term jigsaw pocket is used to describe the female connector of a puzzle piece, while the term jigsaw tab is used to describe the male connector of a puzzle piece.
