This illustration shows OIM setup before and after the one-hop upgrade process.

Before the upgrade, the OIM setup comprises the following:

11g OIM servers
12c OIM servers
11g OIM DB
12c OIM DB

The 12g OIM servers and the 11g OIM servers will be affected by the one-hop upgrade process.

After the upgrade, the OIM setup includes:

11g OIM servers that have now stopped
11g OIM DB schema upgraded to 12c
12c OIM servers that are rewired to the upgraded OIM schema
12c OIM database that is now shutdown

The 11g OIM database schema upgraded to 12c and the 12c OIM servers rewired to the upgraded OIM schema is the combination of database and servers that are used after the upgrade. Other components can be stopped and discarded.
