Create a scale down action


To configure a scale down action:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, select Diagnostics > Diagnostic Modules.
  3. In the Diagnostic System Modules table, select the name of the diagnostic system module containing the scale down action you want to configure.
  4. Select Configuration > Policies and Actions > Actions.
  5. In the Actions table, select the name of the scale down action you want to configure.
  6. On the Scale Down Properties page:
    1. in Cluster Name, select the dynamic cluster you want to perform the scale down action on.
    2. In Scaling Size, enter the number of running dynamic server instances to scale down by when the action is invoked.

    Note:

    A scale down operation cannot scale down below the limit set in Min Dynamic Cluster Size for the dynamic cluster. See Configure elasticity for a dynamic cluster.

  7. Click Finish.
  8. In the Change Center, click Activate Changes.
