Target a Java EE library to a server instance or cluster

When you install a Java EE library using the install assistant, you specify the server instances and clusters to which the library is targeted. You can, however, change these targets after the library has been installed, as described in the following procedure.

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, select Deployments.

A table in the right pane displays the installed applications, modules and Java EE libraries. Java EE libraries are specified with the Library entry in the Type column.

  3. In the Deployments table, select the Java EE library you want to re-target.
  4. Select Targets.
  5. In the Servers box, select the server instances (Administration and Managed) to which you want to target the Java EE library.

If you have clusters configured for your domain, a Clusters box also appears on the page. In this box, select the clusters to which you want to target the library. For each cluster, you can choose to target the application to all servers in the cluster, or just to a selected few.

Be sure you target the Java EE library to each server instance and cluster to which modules and applications that use the library are deployed.

  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
