This preface describes the document accessibility features and conventions used in this guide—Understanding Domain Configuration for Oracle WebLogic Server.

Audience

This document is written mainly for Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) system architects, application developers, and system administrators who are developing or deploying Web-based applications on one or more Oracle WebLogic Server domains.

It is assumed that the reader is familiar with Java EE, basic concepts of XML, and general networking and application management concepts.

The topics in this document are relevant during the design and development phases of a software project. This document does not address production phase administration, monitoring, or performance tuning topics.

Convention	Meaning

italic	Italic type indicates book titles, emphasis, or placeholder variables for which you supply particular values.
monospace	Monospace type indicates commands within a paragraph, URLs, code in examples, text that appears on the screen, or text that you enter.
