Upgrading Oracle WebCenter Content
For upgrade information, see:
Upgrade restriction in unpatched PS5 version
If a customer has a PS5 instance and has not applied the patch for bug 13723409 for changing the application name and has not configured the server which reflects the changed application name, then it doesn't meet the pre-upgrade configuration and upgrade should not be tried as the CS schema will not be discovered.
The workaround to upgrade this type of PS5 instance is to configure the server correctly.
-
Install the patch which contains bug 13723409 for the application name change to: Oracle Universal Content Management - Content Server.
-
Verify the patch install by redeploying the CS application in the existing domain. If there was no existing CS application in the domain then the new CS application will be created with the new application name. This will ensure that the CS schema gets discovered.

Component for Clearing sysadmin Trash and Restoring Expired Documents
The FoldersExpiredItemsRestore component does a one-time job of clearing the
trash folder of the sysadmin
user and restoring the expired content items
from this trash folder to their original or corresponding parent folders while retaining
the items' Expired status. After completing the restore operation, the component
deletes this trash folder if it is empty. In case the parent folders are missing, the
content items with the Expired status are restored to a newly-created folder under
the root folder.
Note:
-
Once the FoldersExpiredItemsRestore component is run successfully, it doesn't matter if it remains enabled or disabled as it has done its one-time job.
-
Customers who have installed Oracle WebCenter Content October 2022 or a later bundle patch will not be able to delete folders that include expired content, so they'll be notified through an appropriate message.
-
Oracle advises you to not use the
sysadmin
user explicitly as it is an internal user.
Transparent Data Encryption Support
Transparent Data Encryption is supported at the tablespace level for Oracle Database 19c (19.5.0.0.0).
